Peterson Rehabilitation Service Department is located on site and offers Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy to all patients/residents 7 days a week.  These services are provided for both in-patients and outpatients. Delivering these services to assist our patients with their needs are trained professionals with multiple years of experience in these therapies.

 

Therapists screen every patient/resident on admission and as required by individual needs and programs but at least quarterly, as well as on request. In addition to traditional therapy for stroke/neuro-muscular recovery and joint replacement, Peterson’s therapy department also provides services for bed and wheelchair positioning, pain management, strengthening exercises for fall evaluation/prevention, self care re-training and lymphedema therapy.

 

Peterson has the Accelerated Care Plus (ACP) advantage in the therapy department allowing therapists to treat a broader patient population with more medically complex conditions.  The ACP supports superior outcomes and expands therapy services. These specialized treatment programs and devices create a more fulfilling therapy environment.

• Occupational Therapy
  Restoring activities of everyday life to get you back home safer and faster.

• Speech Pathology
  Providing advanced treatment plans for swallowing disorders both oral and pharyngeal, dysphasia, dysarthria, and short term memory loss. Peterson’s Speech Pathologist use vital stim, speech and language, aphasia, cognition deficit therapy, and dementia training.

• Lymphedema Clinic
  Peterson has 2 Certified Lymphedema Therapists on site:
  Betsy Myers, OTR/L, CLT & Lisa Health, COTA/L, CLT

Providing lymphedema services to the two specific classifications primary/secondary or benign/malignant. Differential diagnosis include CHF, Lipo-lymphedema, CVI, and DVT.
